Kottawa jungle is a bird paradise for those who love birds. Gradually, as the sun rises, the whole forest is filled with the chirping of birds of prey. Not only sharp tones, thin melodies, sighs, and squeals, but also the melodious songs of birds singing for their sweetheart are no strangers to this forest. These days, the blue beetle that visits Sri Lanka is common here. In addition, gray vultures, lizards, gray parrots, all four species of sparrows, black-headed hawks, sloths, Batagoya ulama, owl, Haban rooster, and wild rooster are no strangers to the Kottawa forest.
The Kottawa jungle is also home to a variety of fish from the small streams that flow from place to place. Several species of fish are regular residents here, including Dandia, betel nut, and moon.
